Project Description

  • This project involved the replacement of 262m of canal walls along Echo Drive, including reconstruction of the canal wall and the multi-use pathway.
  • Tomlinson crews installed H-pile and lagging shoring along the entire length of the project to protect and maintain the boulevard and Colonel By Drive
  • Tomlinson completed in-water work and dewatering of the worksite with sump pumps, at one point running five 6 inch, and one 8 inch, pumps
  • Installation of sheet-pile cofferdam system to keep worksite in-the-dry
  • Placement of mass concrete pad for new retaining wall
  • Ice removal from the Rideau Canal
  • Installation of retaining wall on spread footing and retaining walls on piles
  • Excavation and backfill
  • Traffic Management and Pedestrian Control
  • Removal and reinstallation of salvaged posts and railing
