Mulch and TopsoilWith a focus on conserving and protecting our environment Tomlinson has created a circular economy in which we turn “green waste”, like compost and used wood, into high-quality topsoil and mulch products which are used by our customers to help control erosion and improve soil quality.
Reclaimed Wood Mulch
Our reclaimed wood mulch is created using wood collected from construction and demolition material which arrives at our transfer station. After arriving at the facility all materials are processed through our state-of-the-art separation process, this process allows us to separate “clean wood” from other materials. The “clean wood” is then processed into wood chips and dyed, producing a high-quality mulch product.
In reclaiming materials and processing them into other products for consumption the facility is able to divert up to 122,000 tonnes of waste from landfills.
We currently have three colours of mulch available for purchase: red, black, and walnut brown
At Tomlinson we see green waste as a valuable resource that can be reclaimed to create other products. In turn we can decrease the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. Using GORE™ compost technology, Tomlinson Organics offers an alternative way to dispose of green waste.
After using our GORE™ technology to process the waste we blend the high-grade compost (quality A and AA) with sand, loam or peat to create topsoil. The resulting product is used by commercial landscapers and gardeners to improve their soil quality.
