City Renewal
PARKS INITIATIVE
In 2015 Tomlinson launched The Parks Initiative. This represents a commitment of $1M over five years towards park renewals and upgrades within the City of Ottawa, including recreational elements such as skating rinks or basketball courts. Tomlinson is donating its own infrastructure services, construction materials and project managers to install these additions.
OUR VISION
OUR COMMUNITY
In addition to the infrastructure work we do in our communities, Tomlinson actively seeks to enhance the city in which staff work, live and play. Tomlinson has a long history of philanthropic contributions to local charities and involvement in projects which enhance the Ottawa community. As the company has grown Tomlinson has recognized its responsibility to help those in our city who face challenges or are less fortunate. Tomlinson is open to supporting a wide range of non-profit groups.
MEADOWBREEZE PARK
Unveiled on February 14, 2016, the new public outdoor skating rink created by Tomlinson at Meadowbreeze Park, Kanata is already benefiting residents, thanks to its accessibility.
The upgrade was applauded by residents and Ottawa’s Mayor Jim Watson. Hundreds of residents turned out for the inaugural celebrations.
TENNIS COURTS
In 2018, we are continuing with our investment and giving back to the beautiful city where we live, work and play by upgrading the tennis courts at Manor Park, Pinecrest Park and Russell Boyd Park. These were identified by the City as having the greatest need.
The new tennis courts, built using concrete and flexi surface, were completed in July 2017 (Manor Park, Pinecrest Park) and in August 2018 (Russell Boyd Park).
