Requirements
- reconstruction of Sussex Drive from St-Patrick to King Edward Avenue
- replacement of existing storm and sanitary sewers and watermains
- replacement of existing traffic control signal plants throughout the site, including all underground works
- replacing of exisiting streetlight plant with new decorative fixtures;
- installation of new streetscape elements
- working closely with the local community and local businesses as this was a central tourist area in the City of Ottawa
Project Description
- worked closely with the National Capital Commission, Public Works Canada, the City of Ottawa, and local community and business groups to complete this section of Ottawa’s Royal Route tourist area
- excavation and disposal of contaminated material and contaminated groundwater
- reconstruction of roadway structure including granular and asphalt placement; construction of a new roundabout
- reconstruction of curb and sidewalks using a combination of cast-in-place concrete and granite cobbles and granite curb
- coordination of Bell, Hydro, and Enbridge Gas utility reconstruction and relocations
- lifting and relocating two Heritage buildings, including the work to refurbish the interiors of these buildings
- full rehabilitation of a bridge which was in the middle of the jobsite
- extensive traffic control plans and traffic management and regular scheduling to manage the tight timelines for completion
