Tomlinson Family Foundation donates over $85,000 to local causes since 2012
Tomlinson’s ‘Toonie Bar’ program has had another successful year. At the company’s 2016 Christmas parties, employees raised a total of $9,594. The Tomlinson Family Foundation matched these donations and on March 6th Cindy Tomlinson-Keon presented a cheque from the foundation for $20,000 to Roger Neilson House. Roger Neilson House is a pediatric residential hospice providing a home-like environment to children who have a significant risk of dying before reaching adulthood. “We are honoured to be able to donate these funds to this worthwhile cause,” said Cindy Tomlinson-Keon, President of the Tomlinson Family Foundation. “The donation was particularly special this year because the house has supported one of our company’s employees and his family.” The family joined Cindy for the cheque presentation.
The Tomlinson Family Foundation aims to contribute towards and support local communities, and foster charitable works that build and strengthen these communities. Under the leadership of Cindy Tomlinson-Keon the Foundation leverages the company’s tradition of charitable giving by encouraging participation from employees, suppliers, service providers and other organizations and individuals with whom they work. The goal of the Foundation is to support a wide range of organizations in an effort to serve the needs of the community.
Since 2012 The Toonie Bar program, matched by the Tomlinson Family, has raised thousands of dollars benefitting local non-profit organizations: $11,564 for DFID; $17,882 for the YMCA; $18,000 for the School Breakfast Program; $18,300 for Hospice Care Ottawa.; and $20,000 for Roger Neilson House.
