Tomlinson Wins Fourth President’s Award from Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) for Zero Lost Time Injuries

Tomlinson has received the President’s Award from the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) for zero lost time due to injuries during 250,000 hours worked in 2016. This is the fourth President’s Award received by Tomlinson, the Ottawa based transportation infrastructure and environmental services firm. The company has already received recognition for zero lost injury time for its Environmental Services, Waste Management and Ready Mix Divisions. As a ministry-approved provider of health & safety training, auditing and evaluation, awards from the IHSA are highly sought-after.

“The Safety Team would like to congratulate the Tomlinson employees who played a part in achieving Zero Lost Time Injuries. This is a huge achievement.” said Chris Keeping, Director of Health and Safety, Tomlinson. “Safety is a core value at Tomlinson and this award is proof that every staff member embraces our commitment to make all Tomlinson divisions safe places to work – for the public, our partners and our workers.”

The President’s Award is given to any firm for 250,000 hours worked without a lost-time injury. IHSA offers skills-based training, auditing, and evaluation to companies in construction, surface mining, utilities and transportation. It is recognized by the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board as designated trainers and consultants.
