Tomlinson Paves the Way for Major Runaway Redevelopments at MacDonald-Cartier International Airport
Starting in May 2014, Tomlinson crews began what would become one of the largest, most time-sensitive projects Tomlinson has ever taken on. The Ottawa Airport’s Runway 14-32 Redevelopment project involves a complete overhaul of the existing runway from the grinding of old asphalt, full excavation, placement of over 430,000 tonnes of Granulars, replacing all of the existing storm sewers with new, an all new wiring and lighting system, and of course paving: over 80,000 tonnes of asphalt were to be placed for the entire 3km runway. All in the span of four months.
