Tomlinson Contributes to Carleton University’s Latest Sustainability Project

In May of 2025, our team was on site at Carleton University where we were working hard pouring a brand new 3200 square foot concrete pad for future use at the CHEeR House (The Urbandale Centre for Home Energy Research). With an overall emphasis on sustainable practice and renewable energy testing, this facility was in need of a new foundation to pilot and study sustainable roofing systems in the future – this is where our Enviro Line Concrete comes into play. Tomlinson’s Enviro Line Ready Mix is a low carbon concrete solution that lowers the carbon footprint of both the product and in turn the project itself. We were very excited to contribute in support of Carleton University’s research and sustainable initiatives.

On top of participating in this low carbon project, this also provided an opportunity for our team to work closely with several faculty and students on site to not only demonstrate our quality control processes, but allow them to take over 60 of their own samples to contribute to their own research of low-carbon concrete.

This project allowed us to showcase one of our Enviro Line Ready Mix products, provided an enjoyable opportunity to work alongside the next generation of industry members, and allowed us to contribute to current and future sustainable and renewable energy testing that will occur at Carleton University for years to come!
