Kevin Cinq-Mars Receives ORBA Community Leadership Award
On February 7, 2017 Kevin Cinq-Mars, President of Tomlinson, was presented with the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) Community Leadership Award for his tireless contribution to numerous philanthropic initiatives in Ottawa. Mr. Cinq-Mars was recognized for his considerable support for non-profit organizations in the city such as The Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation, The Youth Services Bureau, The Ride, The Ottawa Senators Foundation, as well as CHEO, Big Brother Big Sister, and The Regional Cancer Foundation through The Malhotra Family Foundation.
Thanks to his leadership, advocacy, and donations these groups have been able to enhance their physical and mental health programs for adults and youth in the city, and raise much needed funds for cancer research. Kevin Cinq-Mars and his family shared their own experience of mental illness in The Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation’s recent Hopes Rising video campaign.
Established in 2015, the ORBA Community Leadership Award recognizes an ORBA member company or an individual, employed by an ORBA member company, for selflessly undertaking philanthropic activities or providing community service, for the betterment of their community and world around them.
“ORBA is proud to recognize Kevin for this award,” said Geoff Wilkinson, Executive Director, ORBA. “Kevin’s leadership in the community and his community service contributions are numerous and have touched countless organizations, individuals and families.”
In recent years the Tomlinson Red Army has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars towards cancer research and The Senators Foundation’s programs. Kevin Cinq-Mars and Tomlinson have also contributed to fund-raising galas, charitable sporting events, the Youth Services Bureau’s SleepOUT and to the construction of the Tamarack Trades Training Centre at the William E. Hay Centre.
