Development

About the Project

A major transformation is underway at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa as the Lansdowne 2.0 redevelopment moves forward. Commissioned by EBC Inc., the multi-phase project will expand and renew the site’s sports, entertainment, residential, commercial and public spaces while construction continues within an active urban environment.

The redevelopment includes a new event centre, replacement of the north-side stadium stands, and significant upgrades to site infrastructure and public spaces. Our team is delivering the civil construction package that supports this broader transformation.

Construction began in January 2026 and is being delivered in phases to align with the overall project sequence. The new event centre is targeted for completion in 2028, with the north-side stands and football field expected to be completed by 2030.

What We Delivered

Our scope includes bulk and detailed excavation, engineered and approved native backfill, granular base installation and fine grading.

Below ground, our crews are also delivering the underground servicing required to support the renewed site, including storm, sanitary and water infrastructure. Temporary and permanent servicing is being coordinated with the broader construction sequence so work can continue safely while maintaining access and ongoing operations throughout the active site.

The project is currently in the mass excavation and temporary shoring phase, requiring continuous coordination between crews and other project partners as construction advances.

Innovation

A key piece of infrastructure is the new underground stormwater retention tank being installed by our team.

Designed to provide on-site storage during peak flows, the system will help manage stormwater across the redeveloped site and support compliance with the City of Ottawa’s stormwater requirements. Integrating this infrastructure below a busy, phased redevelopment requires careful planning and sequencing with the surrounding civil and building work.

Impact

Lansdowne 2.0 is reshaping one of Ottawa’s most recognizable destinations. The civil infrastructure being built today will support the new event centre, stadium improvements, public spaces and future development across the site.

For our team, the project brings together excavation, underground servicing, grading, stormwater management and complex construction sequencing on a high-profile, active site. The result will be infrastructure designed to support how Lansdowne Park grows and operates for years to come.
